Choi Hong Yik excitedly said, "THE WAY WE DANCE has brought many first times to me, including making a movie, attending a film festival in Japan, and walking the red carpet. It also won my first award in film. I am truly very excited and emotional, I am happy for the director and the producer." Wong Sau Ping said, "I originally thought THE WAY WE DANCE's popularity in Hong Kong was because of some unique situations here at this moment. Thus this award from viewer votes in Fukuoka is further recognition of th entire team's quality and effort."

They stayed 7 days at the film festival and received an overwhelming response from the Japanese audience, which surprised them very much. Choi Hong Yik even received gifts from Japanese fans much to his surprise. Producer Chan Sum Yiu said, "The award has brought us a lot of strength to make good Hong Kong films. Hopefully even more viewers around the world will be able to enjoy more and more Hong Kong films."
